Job Title: HVAC Apprentice/ Utility Worker

Job Overview:

MGM Energy is looking for an HVAC Apprentice looking to build a lifelong career in the HVAC & Plumbing industry to join our team. HVAC Apprentice must have an EPA certificate, be enrolled in an HVAC course, or have the ambition to pursue an HVAC career. HVAC Apprentices must follow the structural guidelines and policies and procedures. HVAC Apprentice is expected to provide maintenance, repairs, and replacements on various residential heating and air conditioning systems according to company standards providing the customer with a high-quality experience. Perform Duct Testing, Duct Seals, Duct Insulation, Attic Insulation, Floor insulation, and troubleshooting, and have basic skills and tools to complete minor appliance repairs. The HVAC Apprentice should report to the appointments scheduled by the MGM Energy Call Center on time. Our HVAC Apprentice should have the ability to provide outstanding customer service and good communication skills.

  • The HVAC Apprentice reports to the Field Supervisor and Operations Manager

The Position:

We’re looking for an HVAC Apprentice. The starting pay range is $16.00 - $17.00 per hour.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Successful complete certification training or any other required training
  • Install New HVAC, Duct Distribution, and Related Accessories
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Working Area
  • Assist lead installer in all HVAC system installations; be efficient and accurate
  • Support lead installer in maintaining a clean, organized job site and well-inventoried truck
  • Assist in completing accurate and timely paperwork
  • Install energy-saving measures for the company’s home improvement and weatherization programs.
  • Assist with Attic Insulation, Floor Insulation, and duct Insulation.
  • Follow all Safety policies and procedures pertaining to job duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to wear all necessary PPE and follow dress code.
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and confined spaces.
  • Conduct structural in-home energy-saving measures installments at customer’s homes, apartments, and mobile homes
  • Educate customers on the energy-saving measures installed
  • Report to schedule appointments on time and be prepared
  • Maintain accurate customer records, files, forms, and paperwork
  • Stay updated on program requirements and standards
  • Maintain a positive relationship with customers, staff, and utility company representatives
  • Participate in the routine meeting, workshops, and training as directed by the Field Supervisor or Office Coordinator
  • Responsible for the excellent image of the company while on company time
  • Responsible for performing other duties/tasks assigned by the Operations Manager or Field Supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have an active California Driver’s License and Clean Driving Record
  • General knowledge of HVAC/Plumbing Systems and Methods
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Solid math skills
  • EPA Certification is a PLUS
  • Bilingual is a Plus
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. and work in extreme heat
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
