The Opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring for an HVAC Technician to join our team at Grand Canyon National Park in Grand Canyon, Arizona. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for the daily operation and performance of electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, building repair and maintenance systems. Possession of current HVAC Universal 608 certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs regular maintenance on heating and cooling units.
  • Diagnoses mechanical and electrical malfunctions, installs, replaces, or repairs damaged equipment, and calibrates thermostatic controls.
  • Installs new heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn heating.
  • Inspects and observes pressure of liquids and vapors with HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation of units and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintains the chilled and hot water supply systems at the property.
  • Interprets building codes and regulations as they relate to HVAC.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years' experience in general maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration.
  • HVAC Universal 608 certification required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate company vehicles and follow all rules and regulations.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check including MVR and drug test.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift at least 70 lbs frequently.
  • Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, repetitive motion and use of hands.
  • Ability to work at various heights, including frequent use of a ladder and work in crawlspace.
  • Ability to work outside in various and changing climates including sun, heat, wind, cold, rain and snow.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective gear as required.
