DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBILITIES:
> Handling a high volume of matters with short turn-around times
> Analyzing the matters assigned to him/her to determine if the Firm is in possession of any property set forth in the controlling documents, restricting the property, and complying with all the terms and conditions of the legal document
> Collaborating with various internal departments and branch offices
> Drafting responses to various levies, garnishments, restraining notices, and all forms of similar legal process
> Reviewing and advising on legal documents related to divorce proceedings
> Creating files and completing document collection for subpoenas as well as delivering the documents to the appropriate party pursuant to court-mandated deadlines
> Maintaining appropriate notes and records of the matters that he/she is assigned to and handles
> Escalating matters, as appropriate, to the Supervisor or Supervising Attorney
> Liaising with outside counsel on various matters involving the legal process received
> This role involves a hybrid schedule with three days in-office

> Must be able to interpret and analyze legal documents

> Prior experience in a law firm or legal department and/or the securities industry is preferred
> Must be able to use various P.C., MS Office, and internet applications

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $68,000.00 and $90,000.00 at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
