Hydrotreater Team Leader Job at Nobel Oil Ltd
To provide operational procedure development services for the initial start-up and normal operation of a hydrotreater unit. To include permitting, due diligence, construction oversight, and training of operators.
Job Responsibilities:
Ø Ensure project scope is understood and monitor change effectively.
Ø Able to carry out conceptual/scoping/feasibility studies independently.
Ø Flexibility to work across a number of different process technologies.
Ø Responsible for the development of advanced controls/process optimization.
Ø Expert in preparing Equipment(s) Datasheets, Line List, Tie-Point list, etc.
Ø Maintain experience of pressure relief system and sizes/selects the PSVs using API-520/521.
Ø Prepares PFDs, P&IDs, UFDs.
Ø Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, lead, motivate, and mentor.
Ø Directly interfaces with clients, technology licensors, vendors, and suppliers.
Ø Develops economic justification/or perform cost estimations for projects.
Ø Interfaces with the multidiscipline detailed design group.
Ø Assists Plant Manager in the development of cost estimating, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Ø Provide daily direction to refinery operators.
Ø Review lab results, process conditions, and visual indicators to produce an on-spec product.
Ø Organize and develop a training program for new hires
Ø Maintain a continuing education program for current operators.
Ø Provide equipment status to the Maintenance Planner as it pertains to operations.
Ø Provide timely access to equipment for PM activities and repairs such as bearings, seals, pumps, etc.
Ø Maintain a safe working environment in the plant.
Ø Deliver daily reports on inventories, production yields, and operation issues.
Ø Ensure operator certification for confined space entry, lockout/tag-out, equipment usage, etc., remain current.
Ø Coordinate all turnaround activities and maintain proper consumables stock for same.
Ø Assist the Operations Manager in keeping up to date with any process or equipment changes.
Ø Ensure the plant operates in a manner to be consistent with environmental regulatory agencies.
Ø Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
Ø Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.
Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements:
Ø Minimum of 15 years of work experience operating hydrotreater and distillation units in the refining industry, and demonstrate a deep technical and operational knowledge of the process.
Ø At least 10 years of proven work experience and technical knowledge writing operation procedures and manuals for hydrotreating units.
Ø Experience with chemical management required
Ø Self-motivated with the ability to continuously improve on current best practices
Ø High School diploma required
Ø Excellent communication skills, oral and written
Ø Excellent leadership skills
Ø Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ø Ability to climb stairs and ladders
Ø Ability to work at heights reaching 50 feet above grade
Ø Ability to work in confined spaces and maintain confined space certification
Ø Ability to be fitted for and work wearing a full-face respirator
Ø Ability to maintain HazWoper certification
Ø Ability to lift and carry 50lbs
Ø Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
Ø Ability to stand for long periods
