Millcreek Community Hospital, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking a full time day shift IT Help Desk Specialist to join our team.

SUMMARY: Customer-service oriented position that processes and schedules requests for services and ensures completion by appropriate department staff. Operates and maintains all computer processing systems to ensure continuous, consistent production and system availability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Answers Help Desk phone line. Creates and document helpdesk tickets that clearly and accurately convey the issue presented by the user.

2. Responds to all user requests for assistance with software or hardware reported to the Help Desk within the realm of responsibility.

3. Initiates problem determination, corrective action and resolution utilizing assistance from application support and technical services personnel.

4. Escalates requests to appropriate I.T. staff when necessary.

5. Monitors ticket queue and processes requests according to priority.

6. Monitor and respond to voice messages.

7. Processes security access requests within a timely manner, following policies and standards, and notifies users of the completion of each request.

8. Helps train users on new functions and basic PC use.

9. Contacts vendor hardware and software support organizations when needed to resolve problems.

10. Assists in the testing of new systems during the implementation process.

11. Participates in the department on-call rotation. Responsible for receiving, resolving or reporting issues to the parties responsible to resolve any issue during the rotation according to the I.T. on-call policy and procedure.

12. Provides emergency or backup on-call assistance in the event of systems failure or scheduled maintenance.

13. Performs other related duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as may be required to meet emergency situations.

Minimum Education: Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, or a related degree, or high school graduate with three years of computer help desk experience.

Minimum Experience: One to three years’ experience in supporting a medium sized computer network.

Minimum Skills: Working knowledge of computer systems and technology. Must display good problem-solving skills and be able to communicate effectively with different levels of users. Must possess a keen sense of organization. Knowledge and experience with Office 365 software applications.
