The
ICAM Badging Clerk is primarily responsible for the operation, fabrication, and issuance of NASA badge transactions, KSC temporary passes, center specific badges and credentials, fishing permits, NASA Foreign National permits, KSC ID cards, bullet badges (media, overlays, and special events), permanent area access (PAA), temporary area authorizations (TAAs), and technology control plans as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Required to utilize systems and related databases for issuing and recording badges and other facility access credentials to employees, contractors and visitors
- Required to obtain electronic fingerprints in accordance with NASA ICAM requirements.
- Required to follow all company personnel and safety policies and perform all assigned duties in a safe work manner.
- Ensure that registrants are processed without any undue delays in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) or as may be established by supervisors.
- Recover ID credentials from personnel upon termination of employment or as directed.
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed.
- Other duties as assigned
- Possession of a High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of responsible security awareness administrative, secretarial and/or badging experience preferred
- Must be able to successfully complete KSC ICAM Training (i.e. PIV, ALMS, idMAX, LENEL, etc.)
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance, but not required to start.
- Must be able to meet drug testing and alcohol – free workforce requirements to include random drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Required to adhere to all government agency guidelines as it applies to COVID vaccine Attestation/Restrictions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of standard office and administrative practices and procedures including business letter writing, records management, report preparation, and filing methods, correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary, modern office methods, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to provide varied technical and administrative assistance; use initiative and sound judgment within established guidelines; organize, coordinate, and prioritize a variety of assignments with varying deadlines; work effectively under pressure with frequent interruptions; handle difficult, confidential, and sensitive assignments; organize and maintain a variety of confidential records, reports, and files.

- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

- The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
- During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
