Maark is a strategic marketing and innovation agency for global companies. We help our clients define and articulate their vision, design new connected customer experiences, and develop applications at the intersection of where what’s possible meets what’s relevant.

Our designers work with relative autonomy on their respective accounts but support each other through collaborative feedback and guidance. We don’t believe in egos and instead look for designers who want to learn from their colleagues and share their skills so we all can make the best work of our careers. We’re headquartered in Boston, MA, but have a hybrid work model—two days a week in the office and three days from home. We’ve operated this way for the last five years and believe it gives us valuable face-time with each other and more time with our families and friends.

The Role*
As an Illustrator at Maark, you’ll focus on creating compelling visuals for brands, digital experiences, and video across multiple industries.

What you’ll do*

• Create visual concepts that tell stories in a variety of media.
• Demonstrate business acumen by translating abstract business concepts into visual narratives.
• Illustrate for video by storyboarding, creating assets, and designing style frames.
• Collaborate with team members on defining relevant stories for our audiences.
• Present your work to internal and external stakeholders, explaining why your work will be successful.
• Give honest feedback to other designers and animators on your team.

What we’re looking for

• Experience illustrating both traditionally and digitally for 3-5 years
• A portfolio that shows your mastery of art fundamentals–composition, value, proportion, color.
• A solid conceptual approach in all your work.
• Experience in video production—storyboarding, creating assets, and working with animators to efficiently deliver high quality video.
• An intermediate knowledge of Adobe CC, especially Photoshop and Illustrator
• Beginner to intermediate experience in a 3D application, like Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar
• Intermediate experience in Figma

Nice to have

• Traditional graphic design and typography skills
• Animation experience
• B2B experience
