ESSENTIAL DUTIES PER AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. Ensures proper and efficient registration of patients to imaging department by following established protocol and effective utilization of the Hospital Information System (HIS).
2. Competent in the imaging exam order entry process and proper use of ICD-10 and CPT codes based on exam specific medical necessity.
3. Prepares patient images/ CD’s and/or reports for mail-out, pick-up, and/or permanent transfer upon patient or doctor request and following established film release protocols.
4. Demonstrates professional business skills by efficiently answering the telephone and using proper phone etiquette, communicating effectively on the phone and directly inperson by relaying messages in a cordial and helpful manner, retrieving and faxing reports, and filing as necessary.
5. Instrumental in direction of traffic flow. Greets all customers arriving at Outpatient Reception in an efficient and thorough manner by addressing the needs of all customers and alerting the staff members of other departments as necessary.
6. Assist radiologists and staff physicians in locating images or reports on a demand basis.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A minimum of one year of business experience, preferably in a public relations, healthcare, or other professional settings.

The receptionist/scheduling coordinator greets patients, verifies orders are complete, answers the phone, and communicates effectively with all inter- and intra-departmental customers.
