Role within DWD:

The Industrial HVAC Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, adjusting, and balancing heating, cooling, and ventilating on industrial HVAC systems at clients’ sites without supervision. Extensive travel (including domestic, Gulf of Mexico and International) required.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair industrial HVAC equipment for a variety of domestic and international customers. Types of equipment/systems include but is not limited to: DX package units and split systems, chillers- air and water-cooled condensers, pressurization units, exhaust fans/systems, chemical filtration units, relay and PLC controls. Sizes ranging from 2 to 200+ tons
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, determine corrective actions, and repair mechanical and electrical issues affecting unit operation/performance. This includes ensuring that the work conducted fully addresses the issues at hand, and the equipment is brought back to manufacturer’s design parameters
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, determine corrective actions, and repair duct mounted devices such as heaters, fire dampers, sensors, etc.
• Communicate with customers regarding findings, proposed solutions, timing of repair, and project status
• Perform traditional preventative maintenance tasks as required/requested
• Maintain good working order of company vehicle and maintain proper stock, parts, tools and safety equipment in the vehicle
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following OSHA and site-specific safety standards and procedures per service location
• Completes assigned tasks within the allotted hours with minimum to no rework
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Be available to work nights or weekends to support clients’ demands
• Operates forklift to transport supplies and equipment
• And all other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge Required

• Five plus years’ experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of diverse industrial HVAC equipment and associated issues
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals
• Experience with Variable Frequency Drives and PLC
• Offshore service/project experience
• Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record

Certification Required

• Universal EPA Certification
• Basic Plus issued by HASC or ISTC
• TWIC Card
• HUET (Helicopter Underwater Egress Training)
• Applicable Offshore certification
