Position Summary

Coordinates and performs health screens, drug screens and surveillance activity as required by contracted company's contract and policies and regulatory agency requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and performs health screens, drug screens, and surveillance activity as required by contracted company's contract and policies and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Conducts health screening and surveillance activities including occupational and environmental health histories and health assessments.
  • Identifies the scope and distribution of occupational and environmental disease and injury occurrences using individual history health assessments and other aggregate data.
  • Collaborates with others to implement prevention and control strategies designed to maintain employee health and safety.
  • Reviews health history and performs biometric, vital assessments, EKG's, specimen collection and phlebotomy as indicated.
  • Assesses health status as it relates to physical demands of particular job and fitness for duty.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate college degree in Nursing with current NC RN license required- or higher.
  • 2-3 years experience required in emergency
  • nursing, general med-surgery nursing, occupational health, public health or infection control.
  • Occupational health and/or work comp experience preferred. Pulmonary Function Testing certification and Audiometric certification must be obtained within 3-6 months of employment.
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse through ABOHN may substitute for one year of required experience.
