Infant Nanny (Parenting Partner) Needed in Raleigh Job at My Girl Friday, LLC
- Put me in coach. We’re college sweethearts who welcomed our first (second if you count our 11-year-old rescue pup) baby to the pack in August! We’ve been enjoying our time with the little guy, but it’s back to work in the new year and we are looking for a baby whispering, routine-building and development-guiding nanny to help as our little one grows. Think: solid food introductions, practicing those first words, sleep training and encouraging baby’s first steps. You’ll be with us for all those milestones and more, helping coach along the way, and hopefully part of our long-term family growth.
- Let’s hear it for a short work week! We can guarantee 30 hours a week, but we’ve got alternating schedules. Week 1 might be M/W/Th 8a-6p and Week 2 might be M/T/F 8a-6p. We are also happy to add on a half-day shift a few times a month for a date night or little weekend support! For this “full-ish” role, a nanny who loves this flexibility will be our perfect match.
- Are you ready for an adventure? Our relationship has been full of all kinds of exciting things, including travel (from London and Paris to Italy to Texas and Lake Tahoe), delicious food (both restaurants and home-cooked masterpieces), and sports (Dad was a fairly impressive soccer player in his heyday, and our sweet baby is already following in his “foot steps.)” Now, our relationship looks like in-home remodeling, play dates with friends with kids, and pretty demanding work schedules. Dad is a pharmacist and Mom works as a partner for a PR agency.
- We’ve been reading_ Moms On Call_, and establishing a consistent sleep schedule has been very important for us from the start. Someone who has ample experience with infants would be wonderful in this position as we would welcome expert help. Someone who will partner with us in creating a structure for him, who loves a routine, is open to tracking daily activities, and who has an interest and knowledge in child development is exactly what we’re looking for. It’s important to us that our nanny will be engaged in day-to-day interactions with our little man - from tummy time to reading and games. If you have experience with introducing new foods AND potty training, bonus points for you! As far as in-home duties, we just ask that you take the lead on preparing all food for our little bundle of joy and clean up after whatever daily activities the two of you get into, like straightening up play areas, cleaning bottles, taking out trash and dropping in a load of the laundry used throughout the day. If you were open to helping with occasional family dinner prep or unloading the dishwasher from time to time, your position in our hearts would be solidified.
- Ice cream? And lakes? And babies? OH MY! We live in a super cute, walkable neighborhood that has a local ice cream shop nearby. In the warmer seasons, we could absolutely envision you and the nugget going for a little sweet treat, or maybe taking a stroll around Lake Wheeler or Yates Mill Pond, meeting all the local families and their little ones, too. Once our little man is a little bit older, we also have a car that we would love for you to use for museum exploring, library visiting, and other fun out-and-about activities.
- We wish COVID didn’t still deserve a sizable nod. Though it’s hard to believe COVID is still going strong, we’re continuing to stay safe. Both Mom and Dad are vaccinated, boosted, and following any mandates that are at play. We are looking for someone who is vaccinated, keeping up with boosters as recommended by the CDC, and following mandates as well. Our ideal person is being safe and mindful in these ever-changing times. Open communication, honesty when potential exposures occur, and a willingness to be flexible as things ebb and flow is what we will be offering and asking from you.
- Must love dogs. We have an 11 year-old, 45(ish)lb rescue pup who has been the only child for a while. We wanted to set him up for success with the impending arrival of his new little bro, so we sent him to training school. He passed with flying colors, and we are on the hunt for a confident nanny who can keep baby and pup interacting harmoniously as Aiden grows and gets “on the move.” We don’t really need any direct pet care other than making sure the two of them are not left unattended together on the floor (unless you love dog walks, too!). We honestly don’t anticipate any issues, but want to keep a close eye on things. As for you, we have no doubt he’ll warm up quickly and will probably be begging for your attention.
- We’re offering $23-$25/hr depending on experience, 30 guaranteed hours, PTO, and an endless supply of ice cream and baby snuggles.
