Job Summary

One Utah Health Collaborative (the Collaborative) is currently seeking to hire an Innovation Project Director to lead a new private-public partnership to transform Utah’s health ecosystem. The Innovation Project Director will primarily be responsible for analyzing, planning, organizing, managing resources, and overseeing activities to achieve project objectives. The Innovation Project Director will apply expert knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to a project, and collaborate with stakeholders to manage the scope, schedule, risks, and unforeseen issues. The Innovation Project Director will report directly to the Executive Director. The Innovation Project Director will be responsible for upholding the Collaborative’s mission, strategy, and ensuring the achievement of aligned outcomes. The Innovation Project Director is expected to demonstrate an advanced knowledge of the Utah healthcare landscape.

Collaborative Description

The Collaborative is a community-owned asset, serving as a lever to transform healthcare in Utah by 1) motivating community leaders to change by being a steward to unified goals and a roadmap for healthcare transformation, and 2) accelerating, enabling, and promoting innovation. This simultaneous top-down and bottom-up approach will maximize the influence the Collaborative will have on accelerating healthcare transformation. In addition to the key components of reducing costs, improving outcomes, and increasing health equity, the Collaborative will be guided by three overarching principles: Collaboration, Innovation, and Accountability. The Collaborative’s vision is for Utah to be the national leader in cost-efficient, innovative healthcare, thereby strengthening our economic competitiveness and supporting a high quality of life for all Utahns.

Work Performed and Job Requirements

  • Oversees Project Life Cycle of health innovations in collaboration with community stakeholders.
  • Develops submission process and analytic rubric to assess proposed innovation projects.
  • Manages pilot project budget and related expenditures.
  • Applies technical knowledge and develops mitigation strategies to stay on schedule.
  • Formulates plans to accelerate, scale, and amplify successful health models to maximize positive impact for Utahns.
  • Serves as an active and visible presence in the community and works closely with other professional, civic, and private organizations.
  • Creates, implements and monitors communication plans, progress reports, data collection, and analytic reports for projects of various sizes and degrees of complexity.
  • Practices shared decision-making with community members and incorporates collaborative communication around health needs, innovation, and equity.
  • Serves as subject matter expert and develops communications plans, in coordination with the Executive Director and Innovations Program Director, on the Collaborative’s mission and objectives.
  • Provides advice, implementation plans, and/or suggestions for improvement according to program objectives.

Education/Training

Bachelor’s degree is required. An MHA, MBA, MPA, JD, RN, NP or Master’s degree in a related discipline is preferred.

Experience

Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years, or Master's degree with 2+ years, in a similar professional position with a proven track record of successful project management leadership. Ideally, holds experience in healthcare payment and delivery including, but not limited to policy, administration, operations, finance, and/or research.

  • Organized and capable of efficiently managing priorities and meeting deadlines in a demanding environment.
  • Proven abilities in data collection and reporting.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and people skills.
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office; preferred knowledge of project management and reporting tools.

Computer, printer, copier, scanner, phone, web conferencing.

Working Conditions

Work is sedentary in nature and performed in an office environment. Frequent travel to client sites and the Collaborative office. Involves frequent contact with staff and clients. Work may be stressful at times.

Physical/Mental Demands

Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation; stooping, climbing, and bending to files and supplies; mobility to complete errands; stand/sit for up to eight hours each day; ability to communicate clearly when using the telephone; requires sitting; standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and twisting at times; moderate levels of stress.

Salary Range

The salary range is commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
