This role will be known as Internal Sales Associate among colleagues and within the PRO business. Within the broader SCJ organization, the job is graded as Associate, Sales.
The Internal Sales Associate directly reports to the Sales Operations Manager. The position is office based in Charlotte, NC. This individual will be responsible for the leadership and development of a defined set of distributor accounts, existing end users and the generation of new business leads against predetermined targets and objectives as specified by the Sales Operations Manager.
Responsibilities include:
Distribution Management
This role will be responsible for an identified group of Distributors. They will manage and develop trading relationships and achieve business sales growth within identified distributors. They will achieve an in-depth knowledge and understanding of each distributor and their respective market sectors. They will ensure Distributors are fully trained in all aspects of the SCJP product range and that the training is updated on a regular basis. They will support establishing distributor business plans and incentive programs. They will manage sales of product through an analysis and focus on distributor performance and sales lead generation and pipeline activity.
End User Management
This role will pursue new end users as opportunities to educate and identify areas to sell SCJP’s range of products. Identify market trends for opportunities within specified industries, seasonal trends, and multi-location sites to pursue end users not currently buying SCJP branded products. Develop relationships with existing end users and initiate ongoing customer engagement activities. Understanding the customer’s use of our products and identifying additional opportunity from our product portfolio to sell to the customer. These end users will be managed as well in our online bid platform with responsibility of Internal Sales to respond with the appropriate SCJP product.
Lead Generation
This role will identify, qualify, and schedule appointments with new end user leads. These end user leads will be sourced from Internal Sales campaigns, Marketing campaigns, inbound inquiries, Internal Sales cold calling, tradeshows, exhibitions, and our online bid platform. Internal Sales will provide reporting and feedback to ensure proper follow up and ROI on pursuit of end users to ensure alignment to the strategies of the overall organization.
Additional responsibilities:
- Adhere to the highest standards of SC Johnson Professional’s Sales Management Best Practices so all are operating at their highest performance level against selling targeted end users.
- Partner with Marketing to create winning sales and marketing programs and in in developing sales and marketing initiatives.
- Organize and where appropriate attend trade shows and exhibitions.
- Call existing end user customers to support sales revenue increase by increasing the range of products purchased.
- Sales Forecasting, including monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts.
- Attend meetings where necessary to report on sales performance including competitor data where appropriate.
- Administer all management report requests and/or any additional information as specified by the Sales Operations Manager or Sales Leadership.
- Build and maintain effective relationships and communications with Marketing, Customer Service, Technical Services, and Sales Administration, thus ensuring that all available information is fully understood and effectively communicated to customers and sales management.
- Participate in SC Johnson Professional’s initiatives.
ducation and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a proven track record of experience managing large end user accounts.
- Experience selling multiple products and bundles via phone to a range of end users and distributors alike.
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and a CRM system (ex. Salesforce).
Additional Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience managing sales relationships in a non-durable selling environment (e.g. PPE, tools, cleaning, hygiene, paper etc.)
- Experience of selling through distribution and selling B2B essential
