JOB TITLE: Instructional Coach

REPORTS TO: GPS Solutions Leadership

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To support the organization and implementation of Intervention Programming and Support Teams across Units and projects to enhance academic performance in school by assessing students’ needs.
  • To support the planning and implementation of before, during, after school and summer school programming.
  • To collaboratively build, delivery and effectively report out on GPS Solutions intervention program offerings.
  • To consult/collaborate with the Unit Directors, building principals, teachers and specialists to develop GPS Solutions individualized academic plans (IAPs) for students with targeted needs who may not qualify for special education services.
  • To serve as a data resource to the GPS Solutions organization, Units, project departmental or grade level meetings, leadership meetings and PLC’s, as well as GPS Solutions Unit leadership.
  • To set expectations for and coordinate the actions of academic intervention teams and teachers of identified at-risk students.
  • To set organizational and project goals and drive innovative academic intervention programming.
  • To act as a thought partner with Literacy Specialist Coordinator and Social Emotional Learning Coordinator, where and when appropriate to advance intervention goals and objectives.
  • To identify and/or develop progress monitoring systems for the instructional practices of academic intervention across Units and projects.
  • To consult with teachers via coaching and/or PLC’s to determine strategies for academic support.
  • To listen, support and model effective communication and problem-solving skills through restorative practices.
  • To attend and/or present trainings as assigned.
  • To participate and/or facilitate staff meetings, planning meetings and professional development.
  • Oversee implementation of academic intervention programs to ensure programs are being run according to plan with fidelity.
  • Tier 1 Instructional Coaching to support teachers who service “At Risk” students.
  • To provide Instructional Coaching using GPS Solutions protocols as needed and appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of three-five years classroom instructional experience
  • Experience working with At-Risk students and MTSS programming
  • School Administrative experience preferred
  • Master’s degree in school leadership, curriculum and/or instruction, literacy or related area required

  • Interpersonal Skills: Effective interpersonal and customer service skills. Must possess ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers at all levels, including senior executives. Must demonstrate and possess a high level of professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a team environment and build effective working

relationships. Ability to successfully collaborate with others to accomplish business objectives.

  • Planning/Organizing: Ability to utilize sound judgment to manage, prioritize and plan work activities and competing priorities with minimal supervision. Ability to follow through on multiple tasks and deadlines and be detailed-oriented.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills required. Must be able to work quickly to meet demanding deadlines, demonstrate flexibility, willingness to take on assignments and work well under pressure.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve problems, use sound judgment to develop alternative approaches and meets challenges with resourcefulness.
  • Technology: Proficient in the use of PC/Windows and/or MAC and web-based applications including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook), TEAMS (be able to upload documents), STAR and HRIS
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle and manage confidential information. Must possess a strong level of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism.
