TITLE: Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (Exempt, 11 month position)


POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Assist teachers with the integration of technology in the classroom, modeling instructional and integration strategies as appropriate, provides training and professional development to teachers on the effective use of technology. Provides assistance in troubleshooting reported problems with computers, and instructional technology in the classroom.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Attend regularly scheduled meetings with building and division level administration to discuss technological needs and strategies


Participate as a member of the building and/or division technology committee


Troubleshoot technology equipment and system software issues


Prepare written documentation to assist staff with technology use


Assist building and division administration to set and maintain technology-related building policies and procedures


Provides direct support to the classroom teacher for the utilization of technology tools and resources to support instruction in the classroom;


Consults and collaborates directly with teachers and school personnel, and works with students for the purpose of modeling or demonstrating a lesson for a teacher;


Collaborates and assists teachers in integrating appropriate technology tools in the curriculum to enhance teaching and learning;


Designs and implements high quality technology professional development opportunities throughout the school year for teachers and staff to use technology in an effective manner;


Develops a rich library of curriculum-driven support materials and technology-enhanced resources for grade levels and subject areas for teachers;


Facilitates the school and divisionwide technology integration effort in promoting; critical thinking, creative thinking, collaboration, communication and citizenship


Demonstrates good work habits to include punctual and regular attendance


Reports to Exectutive Director of Accountability and Operations


Perform other related duties and responsibilities as requested


PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:


Demonstrates an understanding of the job tasks


Demonstrates the ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and well-written communication and to interact effectively with parents, pupils, other teachers, administrators, classified employees, and the community


Demonstrates responsibility for professional growth by seeking continuing education and in-service training programs


Demonstrates self-control in the interaction with the school community


Demonstrates good work habits to include punctual and regular attendance and efficient use of time


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Must possess a valid Collegiate Professional License with appropriate level endorsement with a minimum of 3 years teaching experience


Must have excellent communications, organizational, presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills.


Experience in conducting technology workshops and creating and modifying curricular lessons and activities are preferred


Must have a working knowledge of computer hardware, software and peripherals and the following are recommended: Microsoft Windows, Macintosh, and iOS Operating Systems, MS Office (Word, Excel, Access,

PowerPoint), Internet Resources, Google, and SMART Notebook.


Tuberculin skin test certifying that the individual is free of contagious tuberculosis


LICENSE:


Must possess a valid Collegiate Professional License with appropriate level endorsement


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


Work involves physical tasks related to relocation and maintenance of computers and other technology equipment


Above-average amount of walking, bending, standing, stooping, and lifting in a school environment


HAZARDS:


Work involves exposure to normal everyday hazards


UNUSUAL DEMANDS:


Work is performed throughout the division and requires no unusual demands


EVALUATIONS:


Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of School Board Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel
