GENERAL FUNCTION
Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director, the Specialty Instructor I –Tumbling is primarily responsible for providing quality leadership and supervision, in Tumbling Classes, while maintaining a safe non-competitive environment for YMCA members and participants.
KNOW HOW
  • A high school diploma, or its equivalent, and 3-4 years experience leading/teaching tumbling classes.
  • A minimum of 18 years of age and basic knowledge of tumbling skills is required.
  • Successfully demonstrate skills, verbally provide clear concise directions, and visually inspect classroom for participant safety.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of child/youth development.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information on children, family and YMCA staff.
  • Maintain current certifications in CPR Heartsaver, First Aid, Safety and Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention and New Employee Orientation or the ability to obtain within 60-90 days of employment.
  • Administrative skills including maintaining required program/department documentation and statistical reports.
