U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management services firm, is seeking a Instrument Controls Technician in King of Prussia.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Calibrate, operate, monitor, repair and replace building industrial controls, transmitters, meters, switches, and related instrumentation required to monitor operating status and parameters of all Chillers, Boilers pumps, Compressors, and related mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Calibrate, operate, monitor, repair, and replace building automation components and associated controls and wiring associated with all Chillers, Boilers, and associated utility systems.
  • Fluent working with low voltage control systems including 120-volt devices, 2-10 volt, 4-20 ma, AC or DC devices.
  • Calibrate, operate, monitor, repair and replace building industrial pneumatic controls
  • Perform routine and emergency repairs to all building instrumentation and controls as well as electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic devices as required.
  • General knowledge of power distribution, switchgears, substations and emergency generators.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical research and development equipment and operation as well as knowledge of animal vivarium environments.
  • Ability to follow and perform detailed preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Responds to alarms and emergency situations as required and directed.
  • Document and record all operating equipment status under his / her area or responsibility.
  • Complies with all Federal, State, local and company policies regarding regulatory compliance and safety.

Management:

This position is responsible for all documentation, record keeping, and technical literature for all devices, components and controls located within the area of his / her responsibility. Effectively communicates with the site Management team to understand the requirements, solve complex maintenance problems, and provide solutions to infrastructure issues. Must be self-motivated and demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills. Required to cover open shifts for vacations and emergencies as needed.

May be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth above to address business needs and changing business practices.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Five or more years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of high pressure steam boiler, large tonnage refrigeration chillers and various HVAC systems.
  • Five or more years’ experience with various building automation systems including programming knowledge, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Must have strong background and knowledge in industrial controls and electrical systems
  • Certified or qualified electrician preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and complex ladder logic
  • Knowledge and thorough understanding of all applicable OSHA governed safety requirements.
  • Must have basic computer skills including all Microsoft applications.
  • Must provide personal hand tools normally associated with work of an industrial nature.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently or as a team.
  • Willing to work varying shifts, holidays, overtime, and emergency call in coverage.
