We are seeking a Verifier that will be responsible for the administration of financial records of patients prior to submission of claims to third party agency/payers. This position is responsible for maintaining statistical information on Medicare patients.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and Patient Accounts Representation Certification
  • Minimum of three (3) years of collection and billing experience. Minimum of one (1) year of medical terminology experience. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial and Managed Care guidelines. Knowledge in the operation of CRT/personal computer.

Responsibility Highlights

  • Verify patient financial documents. Receive, verify, and cross-reference financial documentations of patients daily.
  • Check accuracy entered in HCIS, correct/change after appropriate interviews and/or investigation. Disseminate corrected information as necessary.
  • Refer accounts for MA-NG, or other applications as necessary.
  • Verify, pre-certify, notify of admission and benefits, as required.
  • Follow-up on pending information/authorization as needed for approval.
  • Notify departments of insurance information changes and/or requirements for certification/authorization.
  • Interview patient or representative to develop insurance information, as necessary.
  • Maintain collection notes in HCIS on each individual account.
  • Scan, as necessary, any additional information to maintain integrity of account.
  • Maintain Admission/Discharge logs.
  • Act as back-up MA-NG Coordinator.
  • Assist in other areas.
  • Work as a team player to provide quality patient care, direct or indirect. Within the scope of licensure, each employee will assist other team members in accomplishing their job duties in order to complete tasks.
  • Hold self and team members accountable for knowledge of full compliance with customer service performance standards as listed on all team members’ job descriptions. Customer is defined as patient, physician, visitor, fellow employee, volunteer, supplier, and payer.
  • Participate in planning and in the efficient, effective management of resources.
  • Support performance improvement and compliance.
