Intake Specialist Job at Community and Family Resources
This position offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus.
Community and Family Resources is seeking an Intake Specialist to provide initial and ongoing guidance to clients regarding agency's fee-for-services, third-party-payor resources, and arrangement for payments of fees in our Des Moines locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with paperwork for new client admissions.
- Complete preadmission phone and/or in-person contact with client to discuss payment plans.
- Verify Title 19, County, and/or Insurance eligibility, check sessions remaining and effective dates.
- Alert client with insurance benefits about possible recertification needs.
- Inform client about documentation to bring to first appointment.
- Initiate third-party payor arrangements,
- Complete financial information form for client/consumer file.
- Notify provider and billing staff about any unusual/special circumstances
- Review appointment report to be sure each consumer is properly authorized.
- Alert providers about reauthorizations needed.
- Route appropriate form(s) to respective providers.
- Assign deadline for provider action.
- Process paperwork via mail, fax, internet or phone.
- File reauthorization documentation in consumer file.
- Verify/arrange for authorization of the added service.
- Create and amend computer records.
Schedule:
- Type: Full-time
- Hours: 40 hours/week, every other week rotating schedule:
- Week 1: 9a-5:30p, Monday-Friday
- Week 2: 8:30a-6p, Monday-Thursday and Saturday 8a-12p (off Friday)
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Associates degree in a related field or equivalent related experience is required.
Required Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of 42CFR and how it applies to Community & Family Resources.
- Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of IDPH licensure standards.
- Familiar with grant and contract administration.
- Familiar with local resources.
- Proficient in computer operation, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively, regularly, and fluently in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities are preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals,
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or agency employees.
- Ability to establish good working relationships with clients and staff.
- Ability to analyze problems presented, to bring agency/community resources to bear within policies and regulations, and to develop and implement effective courses of action.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise case records and to keep other relevant records.
- Ability to prepare regular and special written and oral reports.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate Quality Assurance practices within the department.
Physical Demands:
- The staff member is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
- The staff member is occasionally required to stand and walk.
- The staff member may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
- The staff member must have the ability to move within and between agency buildings, standing, sitting, lifting and manipulating objects typically found in this work environment.
- The staff member may be required to work at any agency building as needed/directed and be responsible for her/his own transportation.
