Interim Director of Nursing Job at Ivy at Deer Lodge
Job Description:
The Ivy at Deer Lodge is seeking an Interim Director of Nursing who can build up a team, lead them to success, and provide high quality care to the facility residents. Potential candidates should possess proven experience in leading teams of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. The goal is to foster an excellent environment that will support everyone in working to the benefit of hospital and patients alike. The DON holds overall accountability for providing leadership, direction, and administration of day-to-day operations associated with direct patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Manages nursing employees in the provision of care and services to residents.
- Supervises development of in-service education programs designed to equip nursing staff with sufficient knowledge and skills to provide nursing and nursing related services to each resident.
- Provides direction to nursing staff to execute tasks necessary to implement operational objectives.
- Provides regular performance reviews, take appropriate job actions, review job actions taken by subordinates to assure that staff meet qualification and performance standards and perform all essential functions of their respective jobs.
- Compliance with and communication to staff of facility policies and procedures for workplace safety, including infection control procedures, application of universal precautions for blood borne pathogens, use of personal protective equipment.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse/RN license by the State Board of Nursing.
- Knowledge of MDS process, state nurse practice acts, and state and federal regulations.
- Working knowledge of nursing services, rehabilitation, therapy, administration, supervision, resident care, etc.
- Familiarity with nursing facility policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Knowledge of and ability to meet regulations of Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS); State Health Department; OSHA Life Safety Codes; Facility Policies and Procedures; Nursing Standards of Practice; and Nurse Practice. Act.
