JOB TITLE: Internal Auditor

DEPARTMENT: Internal Audit

General Summary

Responsible for assisting the VP of Internal Audit with ensuring the Bank has appropriate controls and monitoring in place. Assists with testing and reviews of various areas of the Bank. Draft reports, investigate anomalies, and create summaries to be communicated to the VP of Internal Audit.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the VP of Internal Audit in completion of the departmental objectives.
  • Audit bank operations and other business-related activities for compliance with established policies, procedures, federal and state laws, rules and regulations, effective and efficient governance, and risk management control processes.
  • Perform internal financial control audits in connection with FDICIA that is supervised by the VP of Internal Audit.
  • Perform audit work in matters requiring the highest level of confidentiality and participate in special projects and investigations.
  • Perform detailed testing procedures.
  • Document audit work clearly and concisely to support conclusions.
  • Update audit reports that are reviewed by the VP of Internal Audit.
  • Assist with monitoring and tracking of issues identified to ensure appropriate resolution by management.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism when working with employees and other individuals.

Preferred Skills, Experience, & Education

  • Ability to fully document workpapers to have sufficient evidence to support conclusions.
  • Ability to interact with various departments to communicate audit scope, objectives, and findings. Communicates orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
  • Forms objective opinions on the operating effectiveness of internal controls and identifies core issues.
  • Ability to learn audit methodologies and developing key internal audit deliverables including narratives, work programs, audit reports, and control summaries.
  • Proficient in MS Office products, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to obtain skills to perform detailed research, to assess large amounts of data and to derive key aspects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Prefer some experience in public accounting/audit.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
