International Admission Coordinator (Graduate) Job at Ohio Dominican University
Position Summary
As a member of the Office of International Education (OIE), the International Admission Coordinator (Graduate) supports the university's international student program. Working closely with the OIE, the Graduate Admission Office, and graduate Program Directors, the Coordinator will primarily be responsible for managing the enrollment of international graduate applicants. The Coordinator will also serve as a Designated School Official (DSO), supporting the compliance of F-1 visa holders.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Communicate graduate admission requirements to prospective international applicants
- Actively manage prospective student inquires and applications via telephone, email, text message, etc.
- Evaluate and assess foreign credentials for admission eligibility
- Support recruitment efforts, such as virtual fairs and events, as needed
- Coordinate the review of completed applications by Program Directors
- Provide admitted students with visa and pre-departure guidance throughout the pre-arrival process
- Determine student eligibility for non-immigrant status and issue official visa-related documents (Form I-20)
- Serve as a DSO (Designated School Official) to assist in advising prospective international students on the student visa process, maintain non-immigrant student records, and assist in on-campus support of F-1 visa holders as needed.
- Assist with new student orientation programs for incoming international students and coordinate graduate-specific sessions
- Support the efforts of the Office of International Education as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in international higher education as a participant or professional desired
- U. S. citizen or permanent resident (required to serve as a DSO) with a valid passport
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, as well as external constituents.
- Demonstrated success in intercultural communication
- Ability to multitask or task-shift
