Herff Jones Inventory Control Manager
Position Summary:
As the inventory control manager, you will be responsible for the overall accuracy and integrity of all physical inventory assets. You will also be responsible for monitoring stock levels for all SKU’s against sales forecasts, inventory stocking programs, and production plans in order to support procurement, supply chain and master scheduling department objectives. A key role acting as the conduit between Operations, Finance and Sales.
What we want you to accomplish:
· Analyze, development, and re-engineering of inventory control processes to increased inventory turns, reduce working capital, and improve real time inventory accuracy.
· Physical inventory strategy and procedures to reduce financial close timing.
· Implement full cycle count process on all raw material, components and finished good items
· Insure the accurate receiving, transfer and issuance of Production Orders, Stock Orders, and Purchase Orders into stock and location inventory.
. Product has been counted, inspected, and fully/partially staged.
. Systemic receipt within designated inventory management system has been completed.
. Product has been put away into the correct inventory location based on item categorization.
. Allocation of Production Orders to the correct departments- same day turn around.
. 24-hour fulfilment of all Sale Orders from stock.
- Develop and lead the execution of a new Finished Product Storage Optimization
o Develop and maintain an A, B, C, D inventory categorization; designed to drive the analytics of inventory activity in order to identify obsolete inventory, assist with product management decisions, and reduce pick cycle times.
o Design and develop stock keeping vehicles both systemically and physically to include:
. Permanent systemic and physical locations that allow product movements in and out.
. Shelving and bin styling to properly store product.
. Develop and maintain a cycle counting program based on the A, B, C, D, inventory categorization.
. Development of a Kanban system for frequently used stock items/components.
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Outsourcing Department to ensure the timely, efficient, and proper cataloguing of Greek and Emblematic WIP outsourcing activities is executed.
- Assist in the structuring and planning for yearly Greek stock program.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees team of inventory or warehouse employees.
- Manages inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments, and stock levels.
- Evaluates deliveries, shipments, and product levels to improve inventory control procedures.
- Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.
- Manages schedules of employees, deliveries, and shipments to optimize operations.
- Communicates with inventory employees to meet business goals and address personnel issues.
- Develops business relationships with suppliers and clients.
- Proposes strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of supply chain logistics.
- Monitors demand and analyzes data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs.
- Reports on inventory levels, supply chain progress, procedural efficiency and personnel issues to upper management.
- Manages the recruitment and training of new inventory employees.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Candidate Preferences:
· Experience in scheduling and planning without ERP and MRP systems.
· Experience with ERP systems is highly preferred, specifically Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365, as well as Microsoft Excel
· Experience with S&OP, MRP, and MPS processes highly preferred
· Experience in highly seasonal planning and manufacturing is preferred
· American Production Inventory Control System (APICS) and or Six Sigma certification is preferred
· Good interpersonal, organizational, analytical and communication skills
· Well-organized, be able to multi-task and have a high level of attention to detail
· Customer service driven, able to understand and support the business goals and objectives
· Interface and interact well with all departments of the company, and is an ambassador for planning in a seasonal environment
- Software - knowledge using Microsoft suite required / Oracle and Jmas experience a plus
- Experience – Production/Material Control and/or Purchasing are helpful.
- Other – math, critical thinking skills, teamwork, and organization skills required

Pay: $75,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
