The position as Inventory Specialist (Fine Jewelry) Responsibilities role is a critical one. The Merchandising & Inventory Specialist supports the organization by partnering with designers for inventory ordering and tracking, audits and quality control of inventory and parts received, and assists with ensuring each order is processed timely, accurately, and efficiently from start to finish. Various activities and tasks are performed in this role, and daily responsibilities may shift from time to time as requested by management. The ability to work with others cross-functionally is critical.

Because of the high volume of expensive merchandise flowing through this department, the Merchandising & Inventory Specialist must demonstrate a high degree of honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Maintain master inventory across multiple locations for all categories. Manage all inbound and outbound inventory movements, including merchandise handling, entry, and transfers.
  • Receive and Process Inventory, Quality check merchandise received against purchase orders. Process inventory receipts and print and attach the necessary inventory tags.
  • Enter purchase orders into system, monitor status and report delays to Manager. Place orders according to schedules and at the direction of the Manager.
  • Work with designers on repairs and returns, request quotes from designers and monitor pricing to identify discrepancies. Correspond with designers.
  • Create, track and close repair jobs in the POS system. Work closely with Store locations to process job transfers when needed.
  • Partner with Store Managers to manage the annual inventory and resolve discrepancies. Prepare, perform, and reconcile physical inventory, ensuring proper tracking and making recommendations for improved processes and efficiencies.
  • This role works closely with the Sales and office staff to ensure each order is processed timely, accurately, and efficiently from start to finish.
  • Responsible for transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems.

Other duties as assigned:

Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 am-6:30 pm. Weekends and longer work hours will be expected during events, peak and holiday times. This role is not a remote role.

Requirements:

  • Preferred 2+ years in jewelry related field or luxury retail setting.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in retail management or similar preferred.

Position also requires sitting for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and color discernment are required at a very high level and with high frequency.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
