Investigative Analyst- QPC (Manhattan | Per- Diem) Job at The New York Foundling
The Investigative & Quality Assurance Analyst reports directly to the Assistant Director for Investigations in the Investigations and Program Quality unit of QPC, the Investigative Analyst has primary responsibility for the timely and rigorous investigation of the agency’s client-related incidents related to allegations of abuse, neglect, or mistreatment as well as quality of practice and program services.
Job responsibilities:
- Review incident reports and identified allegations to determine appropriate next steps including reporting to external oversight agencies, opening investigations, and/or discussions with program staff.
- Complete investigations including interviewing program staff and clients, collection and review of relevant documentation, and determination of investigative findings.
- Document investigative findings consistent within OPWDD regulations using Form OPWDD 149 consistent with best practices.
- Work with the Assistant Director to develop client specific recommendations as well as program and system level recommendations based on investigation findings and incident management trends.
- Travel to all agency sites across NYC’s five boroughs and in Westchester, Rockland, and Orange counties as needed for interviews, site inspections, or meetings with program staff.
- Note that in this time of COVID 19, staff need to able to perform tasks remotely (as applicable) utilizing technology and equipment provided by the agency, including Teams to conduct interviews, collaborate with staff, participated in meetings and manage work; laptop connected to the internet; smart phones and the like
- Participate in the Incident Review Committee (based on availability) for the Developmental Disability (DD) Services division as well as the DD Special Review Committee.
- Participate in trainings provided by OPWDD related to Incident Management as needed.
- Must be/become certified to conduct Abuse/Neglect investigations by the NYS Justice Center.
- Additional assignments as delegated by Director/Assistant Director.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders and manage multiple deadlines and projects
· Willingness to work out of and travel among all agency sites to meet with program clients and staff
· Experience in investigations and/or social services, particularly developmental disabilities strongly preferred
· Experience with program evaluation, data analysis and report production · Proficiency in Excel required
· MUST have 1 year of Development Disabilities experience; 2 years is preferred.
