ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Embody the shared values of Hotel Drover
- Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders while acting as an extension of the Hotel Drover brand
- Responds effectively to internal audit reports and recommendations.
- Ensures team receives any required training or attends mandatory meetings.
- Ensures guests receive outstanding, consistent, exceptional service by assisting servers with orders and expediting IRD checks in the designated IRD pass. Personally, runs training programs if necessary.
- Ensures all IRD service, landings and kitchen areas are clean and properly set up. Maintains sufficient inventory of food, supplies and equipment and orders as needed.
- Ensures equipment is properly maintained.
- Prepare orders, including asking for clarification or other need to know items for the guest and answering questions about the menu
- Arranging trays, including adding items proactively the guest may need
- Timely delivery of items to guest rooms and at the proper temperature
- Ability to manage multiple orders and deliver results in a demanding, fast paced environment
- Collect payment and verify information
- Shadow PBX agents to ensure order accuracy and identify opportunities to upsell
- Maintain amenity program, ensuring standards are upheld for all amenities, and personally delivering select amenities to high touch guests
- Collect items from guest room after use and deposit dishes appropriately in the dish area or specified area
- Assist in other tasks when necessary and oversees overall operation, ticket times and guest satisfaction for IRD department
- Ensures department follows all standard food handling, TABC, sanitation and health department guidelines.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures. Reporting to work as scheduled (on time regularly) is an essential function of the job while ensuring proper coverage. A flexible schedule is required including weekends and holidays.
- Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority, otherwise refers the matter to upper management.
- Notifies supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft.
- Ensures the enforcement of high standards of uniform policy, hygiene, and sanitation throughout the F&B areas.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications (relevant experience, education, and training):
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 or more years of related and progressive Food & Beverage experience, prior leadership experience desired
- Ability to develop and maintain effective operating and control processes designed to attain maximum operating efficiency while ensuring adherence to established operating criteria.
- Completes required training as scheduled.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team members, guests, and the public.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English to communicate with management, team members and guests. Bilingual Spanish a plus.
- Must complete TABC alcohol awareness certification as scheduled upon employment. Must have a valid current Food Handlers Card or willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. Must obtain Serve Safe Certificate within 30 days of employment.
