Irrigation Technician Job at Thrive Outdoor, Inc.
Description: The Irrigation Technician will install, maintain, & repair irrigation equipment that includes sprinklers, water lines, pumps, suction devices, valves & other plumbing equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate power equipment & hand tools used in irrigation
- Check systems for proper operation & timing
- Performs seasonal maintenance such as system charging & draining
- Maintains inventory of related parts & supplies
- May lead workers on irrigation projects & work on other grounds related assignments as needed
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds & to work outdoors in various temperatures throughout the day
- Ability to work with & as a team & to complete tasks independently & take initiative
- Ability to follow directions
Work Day & Schedule:
- Workdays & hours may vary depending on weather related conditions
- Schedule will be a 5 day work week which may include weekends & holidays
- A 30 min unpaid lunch break is required if the workday exceeds 6 hours, two 10-15 minute paid breaks will be provided as necessary
Compensation:
- Overtime may be available, but not guaranteed
- Pay will be received weekly
- Transportation is provided for on the job travel
- Paid time off is available to employees who qualify
Education/Experience & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years irrigation & maintenance experience
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, techniques, skills, materials, & methods of irrigation system design, installation & maintenance
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics & drawings
- Ability to ready & write in English & possess good math skills
- Ability to lead & direct the work of others
- Ability to work in a safe & efficient manner
- Must have a valid drivers license
Employer will provide worker at no charge all tools, supplies, & equipment required to perform job. Required uniform provided.
