Position Summary:
Reporting to the ITSM Manager, the IT Business Analyst is responsible for partnering with all business functions to move from innovative ideas to delivered IT solutions. IT Business Analysts are an essential role in identifying business requirements, project management, and taking ideas from business partners to turn words in to functional specifications for developers to build. This role will work with all areas of IT and the business through all phases of projects and services requests and is the primary owner for delivered solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, and leadership skills and must have the ability to see process where chaos exists. The position also requires candidates to have strong organization agility, allowing them to have influence without direct authority. The candidate must also have strong collaboration and leverage IT tools that allows them to identify tribal knowledge and build process into our systems, both legacy and new. Additionally, the candidate must be comfortable working across all functions of business (finance, operations, supply chain, sales & marketing, customer service.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Liaison between users and IT Team, regarding requests for process or system related changes or updates.
- Lead IT / Process related projects
- Determine if the change/request is necessary or if there are other ways to resolve
- Gather business & system requirements
- Identify appropriate teams or individuals for initiatives
- System support (across all applications)
- System testing and release management
- Identify Reporting needs
- EDI Mapping and support
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures and Training Documentation
- Maintain internal IT process governance
- Produce standard project reporting
- Lead or Participate in Business Prioritization meetings
- Run Project Change Request meetings
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or 10+ years experience in the lumber industry
- Direct knowledge and experience in process modeling, process documentation, and process readouts
- 5+ years of experience developing standard operation procedures
- Previous experience leading projects
- Detailed knowledge of project lifecycle, and project coordination
- Experience operating in a defined project Life cycle
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some level of Project Management or process improvement certification
