**THIS POSITION IS IN SUPPORT OF A PROGRAM THAT WILL BE LOCATED IN DOHA, QATAR**
As part of the Information Technology (IT) Division, the IT Specialist will help implement, setup, and repair: intranets, Local Area Networks (LAN), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), servers, workstations and stand-alone computers, all associated hardware, and all associated software required to complete applicable requirements in the Contract. The Information Technology team is also responsible for Learning Resources Center (LRC) and training library requirements required by the Contract and directed by the Operations Support Manager. The Information Technology Specialist reports to the Operations Support Manager and is responsible for the design, implementation, setup, and repair of applicable information technology equipment and systems required on site. In addition, the Information Technology Specialist will be responsible for the research and recommendations for purchasing information
technology applicable hardware and software when directed by the Operations Support Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the, implementation, setup, and repair of applicable intranets, Local Area Networks (LAN), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), servers, workstations and stand-alone computers, all associated hardware, and all associated software,
- Manage, trouble-shoot, repair, and upgrade GFE software and hardware as directed by the Operations Support Manager,
- Ensure databases servers are managed and backed-up,
- Trouble-shoot database problems/conflicts, and correct database problems/conflicts,
- Evaluate applicable Information Technology supported training equipment performance and identify discrepancies or trends to the Operations Support Manager,
- Be proficient in Microsoft Servers (stand-alone and domain controllers), Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Internet Information Server, and Microsoft Exchange server,
- Accomplish software scripting, SQL database scripting, create batch files, and hex edit.
- Modify applicable initialization, configuration, registry and system files,
- Perform Information Technology Help Desk functions for applicable LM site contractor divisions, students and training center personnel,
- Issue applicable users with login and password for LRCs,
- Assist contract and military instructors with setup of applicable classroom and briefing room computers for presentations,
- Accomplish destruction of classified materials applicable to the Information Technology team using approved destruction procedures,
- Develop, implement, and audit compliance procedures for the control, security, administration of applicable computing systems within the instructional environments,
- Provide support for disaster recovery, continuity of operations, and contingency planning support for various computer platforms,
- Be responsible for reviewing, evaluating, coordinating, and making recommendations on all Information Technology certification and accreditation submissions as directed by the Operations Support Manager.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree. Considered an emerging authority.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Approved 8570 IA Certifications (i.e. CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, CCNA, CCNA Security, CISSP)
- Active Secret Security clearance with an investigation within the past 6 years
