Due to this growth, we are looking for a highly capable IT Support Specialist to provide fast and useful technical assistance for our computer systems. Additionally, you will answer questions on basic and advanced technical issues and offer advice to solve them.
An excellent IT Support Specialist must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain potential solutions. You must also be customer-oriented and creative in your approach to dealing with difficult situations. Additionally, we expect the right candidate to always be on the lookout for potential technical and process improvements and have the tenacity to bring those to the IT group for discussion. Job Description:
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance in person, over the phone or via email for both our Houston and Grand Prairie offices, as well as remote jobsites
- Perform remote troubleshooting and problem resolution through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
- Training end-users on hardware functionality and software programs
- Logging and resolving IT helpdesk tickets in a timely manner including weekend and after-hours requests
- Updating end-user computer software as well as assisting in updates to hardware and systems
- Documenting processes and performing diagnostic tests
- Keeping track of technological advancements and trends, especially for end-user devices
Job Requirements:
- 3-5 years of proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or other End-User Support Role
- CCNA Certified - Cisco Certified Network Associate
- Tech-savvy with a working knowledge of office automation products, databases, and remote-control solutions like TeamViewer
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and A/V conference room equipment
- Exceptional ability to provide support and resolve technical requests
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software and networks
- Ability to determine IT needs and train end-users
- Proficiency in logging IT in a helpdesk management system (ZenDesk specifically)
- Experience in documenting business and software processes
- Ability to keep up with technical innovation and trends in IT support
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in English
