Purpose and Responsibility of the Position:
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible to ensure that the Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met.

Essential Functions of the Position:
- Maintain and continually develop Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity and topology, emphasizing dependability, speed, and fault tolerance between divisions, Cosma/Magna corporate offices and resources, and to our customers.
- Sustain development of remote access/control systems environments, allowing for efficient management of many systems by fewer and off-site personnel
- Manage and oversee administrative duties on all divisional servers and PC’s
- Plan and oversee upgrades on hardware and software systems as required
- Assist divisional IT team members as needed and manage the workflow of intra-divisional personnel exchange.
- Support Microsoft Office, Active Directory, Microsoft Outlook, and CAD (Solidworks, ePDM, Spinfire, Autocad etc.) systems. Support EDI systems including connections to customers and vendors.
- Manage enterprise systems backups for all business critical data systems.
- Oversee and maintain enterprise-wide and automated virus protection systems on all servers and PC’s and manage automated deployment of critical software fixes via Windows Software Updated Services (WSUS)
- Through self-training, computer-based training and courses, continuously improve levels of knowledge and competency with IT systems and products utilized.
- Research, evaluate, and develop new technologies, hardware, and software
- Assist with company projects requiring IT involvement
- Maintain documentation and organization of and determine the need for various system support contracts
- Coordinate corporate activities with corporate and divisional IT staffs.
- Facilitate help desk activities between the vendor’s helpdesk and end-users at the division
- Assist in the continued implementation of the MRP software system (CMS)
- Encourage safety, housekeeping, and organizational practices and lead by example
- Promote and facilitate Magna’s Open Door Process without reprisal; effective communication and Fair Treatment
- Participate in Continual Improvement activities
- Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System, and company policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Communication Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
The main language proficiency shall be in the English language.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to deal with problems involving several variables. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and offer reasonable solutions towards corrective action.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
Plant/office Environment. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Business Travel may be expected.
Must be able to work flexible hours in order to cover all three shifts.
Education and/or Experience
- Computer Science/Engineering 4-year degree or comparable experience
- Minimum 4 years computer experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Microsoft Windows XP/7, 10, Windows Server 2008/2012,2016, Active Directory and Group Policy management
- Microsoft Office 2007/2010/O365/2019
- Microsoft Exchange/Outlook
- CMS or ERP experience a plus
- Strong networking experience/background including routers, switches, VLAN management, WiFi, etc.
- TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, WEP/WPA
- Knowledge of bar coding, labeling and scanning systems.
- Knowledge of PLC network integration
- Virtual Private Networking (IPsec, PPTP, L2TP) knowledge
- Firewall, router, and switch configuration/programming knowledge
- Microsoft Certification a plus.
Areas of Training Required:
Must have New Hire Orientation, Safety, and Understanding of the Charter prior to or within the first two weeks of assuming the role.
