Leading auction house in New York City is seeking an experienced, energetic and motivated individual to join our team. This role is an in-house position and is responsible for assisting in the preparation of our monthly jewelry auctions. We are seeking a team-oriented individual, with a strong work ethic and a desire to be a part of our dynamic culture.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in New York. ·

  • Oversee intake of all jewelry submitted for auctions, brokerage, and sales events
  • Handle all aspects of processing and quality control including analyzing, evaluating, and assessing the quality of incoming jewelry and make recommendations for sale.
  • Maintain internal databases and CRM with details of all incoming and outgoing jewelry and QC status for each item
  • Conduct diamond and metal testing on all jewelry submitted
  • Liaise with clients regarding their submitted jewelry and price estimates
  • Assist with the merchandising process, arrangement of jewelry, and preparation of auction catalogs
  • Support team in calling clients before auctions to generate auction submissions and drive clients to the auction platform to view the merchandise available for sale
  • Meet with clients in office for viewing appointments, present the jewelry, and facilitate with the bidding process
  • Assist with invoicing winning bidders, post-auction
  • Coordinate all shipments of merchandise to and from clients before and after auctions
  • Register new companies and create accounts in CRM as well as regularly update and maintain relevant client contact information
  • Assist with brokerage sales opportunities
  • Provide exceptional service to our clients

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in the diamond and jewelry industry
  • Strong experience handling jewelry
  • Independent, resourceful, organized and a self-starter
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be capable, trustworthy and have a positive attitude
  • Strong written, verbal communication skills
