Junior Counselor for Camp Timberlane
Compensation: $300 per week + room and board
Dates: June 11 to August 8, 2023
The Junior Counselor will work as a team to assist the Unit Counselors to develop and implement unit program. Work directly with campers to provide fun, high-quality program opportunities. Ensure safety of all participants. Interacts appropriately with campers in a variety of situations using appropriate positive behavior management techniques.
Requirements:
o Successfully completed CIT 1 and CIT 2 at Girl Scouts of North East Ohio camps or is 18 years of age and entering senior year
of high school
o Must be at least two (2) years older than group to which assigned
o Interest, knowledge, and skills in a variety of camp program fields
o Youth-oriented program background a plus
o Demonstrated ability to successfully handle conflict resolution at all levels with a variety of people, including external
customers
o Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
o Ability to communicate the written and spoken word with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary
o Well disciplined, able to meet deadlines
o Self-starter
o Able to work under pressure of many priorities and deadlines
o Ability to work well as a part of a team
o Knowledge of the Girl Scout program preferred
o Ability to meet schedule requirements, including flexible work week, early hours, nights, and weekends
