We're currently seeking two Junior Microsoft Developers for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Department of Revenue. The selected candidates will work primarily remote, with the occasional meeting in Frankfort.

DESCRIPTION:

Division of Information Management is seeking to hire two Junior Microsoft Developers to join the IT system development and implementation efforts. Candidate will work with project managers, other developers, and business analysts to help deliver applications and business processes. Candidate will provide development and delivery of software applications. Additionally, candidate will provide research and development activities, especially for emerging technologies. Lastly, resource will be responsible for identifying and managing risks and issues associated with the development of applications. Candidates familiar with IRS Publication 1075 requirements to work with systems dealing with Federal Tax Information is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Work at the direction of a Team lead.

· Support and enhance existing systems used by the Department of Revenue.

· Using Microsoft .NET and related technologies, implement web-based applications and services for the Department of Revenue.

· Understand functional specifications and translate into working code.

· Help estimate development tasks and effort involved in completing system requirements.

· Test and deliver code updates for software releases on schedule.

· Work on multiple tasks and initiatives concurrently.

· Participate in design and code reviews.

· Adhere to industry standards and software best practice guidelines.

PLATFORMS:

· IDE Tools: MSDN

· Operating Systems: Windows

SKILL SETS:

· 1 year of IT development experience.

· Basic understanding of Microsoft .NET and object-oriented principles.

· Some experience with any of the following: MVC, SOA, Entity Framework.

· Basic web coding skills using Angular, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, JSON, HTML, and Bootstrap.

· Knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2).

· Knowledge of generating reports in Excel and PDF format.

· Basic understanding of different design patterns (MVC, SOA, singletons)

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
