This is a 4-10 shift. Ten hours per day with a four-day workweek.

We're seeking passionate and qualified individuals to join our team as a Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer in Chehalis at Green Hill School. This position involves a willingness to work with a diverse population, along with a desire to make a difference in the lives of youth. You will be supported and appreciated as a role model to our youth residents, assist counselors on the floor, and intervene if necessary, when conflicts arise. Additionally, you will help create a safe and secure environment for our youth to prosper. You can build a meaningful career, while making a real difference in the lives of youth when you join our dedicated and passionate team a Green Hill School .We need your compassion, commitment and mitigation skills to provide campus-wide security and safety services for residents, staff, and visitors in our secure juvenile rehabilitation environment. You will learn about the Juvenile Rehabilitation Division philosophy and treatment model, which will prepare you for a variety of career advancement opportunities as you support rehabilitative programming for our youth.
We are hiring for both permanent and on-call positions. On-call work is intermittent in nature and does not fit a particular pattern. The work hours/days are dependent upon business needs.


Some of what you'll do:
  • Support case management goals to encourage positive reinforcement, motivate, coach, and redirect youth toward targeted behavior change.
  • Recognize, assess and intervene in crisis or controversial situations to prevent harmful behaviors while holding others and yourself accountable for actions.
  • Utilize effective verbal de-escalation techniques or when necessary physical control techniques to restore calm.
  • Monitor and initiate the completion of facility chores and housekeeping jobs within residential unit, and supervise the movement of residents within the facility and in the community.
  • Conduct routine and random security duties such as headcounts, room checks for cleanliness and contraband, pat and strip searches, building integrity checks, and collect urinalysis samples for testing.
  • Maintain a written account of activities during the work shift and clearly document breaches.

What we are looking for:
Professionals who have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a valid driver's license AND two years (full-time equivalency) of demonstrated work experience or volunteer work.

NOTE: Two years of college from an accredited institution will substitute for the required two years of experience.

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:
  • Demonstrated understanding of adolescent development and juvenile rehabilitation practices and principles.
  • Demonstrated competency in relating to clients from diverse backgrounds and cultural groups.
  • Experience working as a liaison between institutions and individuals in need of community services when released from institutions.
  • Experience working with individuals in need of reintegration or social support services.
  • Experience working with an at-risk population in community based programs.
  • Demonstrated experience working with at-risk individuals in a social services setting
