Kennel Assistant-Club Pet
Part-Time (Various days and hours) - One weekend day and holidays required.
$18.00 an hour

The Kennel Assistant will keep the kennel environment, including kitchen and storage areas, clean and organized by cleaning and maintaining floors, windows, kennels, disposing of trash, recyclable materials, and animal waste. Will perform routine housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, cleaning and maintain other areas, as directed. The Kennel Assistant will gain skills assisting with dog services daily, and will report any supply stock needs or kennel maintenance issues. Will assist in other areas of the kennel and assist fellow employees and other departments as needed. Follow safety and sanitation policies throughout facility in order to maintain HWAC standards of excellence.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Previous housekeeping experience and previous experience with dogs preferred. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team environment, possess good verbal and written communication and prioritization skills and be detail oriented and organized. Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and work closely with animal (dog, cat, exotics) hair/dander.
Employee must demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
WORK CONDITIONS:
70 % of this job is conducted indoors under normal office conditions and 30% outdoors.
Helen Woodward Animal Center is a smoke-free environment. Smoking is not permitted in any HWAC building or vehicle.
