KIPP NYC Public Schools is a non-profit network of free, public charter schools that prepares students for success in college and life. In 1995 we started our first middle school, KIPP Academy, in The Bronx. Our goal was to graduate students with the strength of character and academic abilities needed to succeed in high school, college and beyond – and in so doing, to prove what is possible for all students. Today, our New York City network is comprised of eight elementary schools, nine middle schools, one high school, and KIPP Forward, a comprehensive support program for our alumni. KIPP NYC Public Schools currently serves more than 9,350 students and alumni and has a staff of more than 850. KIPP NYC is continuing to grow and opened two new middle schools and an elementary school August 2021!
Position Overview
The KIPP NYC Manager of Individual Giving is a key role on our Development Team, responsible for maintaining our current individual giving portfolio, while expanding and attracting new donors. Through direct cultivation of donor relationships, the Manager will develop systems to maintain and increase annual fundraising. The Manager will also collaborate with our regional leaders to support major giving from individuals. This position reports directly to our Managing Director of Development and will be a part of the KIPP NYC External Affairs team.
General Responsibilities and Duties, but not limited to:
- Maintain and expand the current annual fund and other online appeals through high-quality, mission driven donor engagement events
- Lead direct fundraising and stewardship for a portfolio of current individual donors and while developing a strategy to attract new funders
- Support cultivation of mid and high-level donors through written correspondence, proposals, reports and meeting briefings to advance the individual giving portfolio and support senior leadership and Trustees with their fundraising efforts.
- Support strategic plans for cultivating a portfolio of major gifts prospects, including upgrading current donors, stewardship and gratitude, events and regular communications
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive donor profiles and donor strategy, in collaboration with the Prospect Research Associate, including a robust system for ensuring donor follow up
- Support the creation of all donor facing materials
- Serve as a partner with the Leadership Council, KIPP NYC’s young professionals group, and their program of volunteering, education events and their fundraiser, SIP for KIPP
- Provide other assistance for "all hands on deck" team support as needed.
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience, fundraising preferred
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar contact management software
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, including Advanced Excel skills required
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop productive working relationships with multiple stakeholders across the organization
- Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to produce high quality work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to exercise discretion and judgment with the handling of highly sensitive and confidential information

Compensation and Benefits:
KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,340 - $92,700. Salary ranges at KIPP NYC are standardized based on role level and role function. Individual salaries are determined through a lens of equity, accounting for years of experience relevant to the role and scope of responsibilities, and are benchmarked against others within the same salary band.
