LA Kids Animation Instructors
Recreation Instructor Positions
Hours: Estimated 12-20 hours per week
Location: Various recreation centers in specific areas the City of Los Angeles:
the Valley, and/or Northeast Los Angeles, and/or Lincoln Heights/Boyle Heights, and/or Downtown/Echo Park area and/or South LA, and/or Willington/Torrance/Harbor City area, and/or Hollywood/Korea Town, and/or Venice plus City of LA facilities in the areas in between. (Instructors hired will be able to choose service area preferences.)
Provide instruction in one or more of the following class genres:
Stop Animation Classical 2D/Traditional Animation
Anime Drawing Digital 2D Animation

Description: Cartoon Drawing Chuckimation
Claymation Zoetrope Animation
Typography Animation Flip Book Animation
Must have experience instructing and/or implementing instruction to youth. Must have experience in creating art at a high school, collegiate, and/or professional level in one or more of the above genres. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to various parts of Los Angeles. (Instructors hired will have the ability to indicate specific geographic work areas.)
Must be available to work at least three days per week from 3pm to 7:30pm. Occassional Saturdays may also be available . All City of Los Angeles employees are mandated to be fully vaccinated & must be willing to wear a mask during work hours. Ability to teach in multiple disciplines/genres is desired. Ability to effectively teach youth and act as a role model is required. Ability to be punctual, autonomous, self-governing, and motivated towards excellence is required. Ability to promote classes in a community context through word of mouth, networking with location recreation centers, delivering and distributing flyers to schools, organizations, and local businesses, and effectively communicating with community members, especially parents is required. Ability to create curriculum is desired.
Dates: To be Determined Upon Availability of Instructor & Site Needs…want to begin hiring process for viable candidates as soon as possible.
Pay Rate: $19.88 per hour
