Landscape Associate Job at CordeValle
OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Under the supervision of the Landscape Manager, the Landscape Laborer will perform all necessary job functions to insure that the golf course and resort grounds are maintained at the highest level of quality possible at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
1. Must be able to understand written and spoken directions in English and / or Spanish
- Must be able to work outside in extreme heat and all weather conditions.
- Must be available to work early morning shifts, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to safely perform manual labor; lifting up to 50lbs.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a group.
Desirable:
1. Previous golf course and /or landscaping maintenance experience
2. Previous experience with using small power tools and / or walking mowers
SKILLS:
Essential:
1. Ability to safely use a shovel, rake, pick and any other hand tools that are employed at a golf course and resort environment
2. Ability to drive an electric, gasoline or diesel powered utility cart
Desirable:
1. Ability to use walking mowers used for cutting golf greens, tees and approaches
2. Ability to use chainsaws, power edgers and backpack blowers
RESPONSIBILTIES:
1. Mow tees, approaches, collars and greens
2. Fly mow and edge bunkers
3. Rake bunkers
4. Rake leaves and other debris
5. Dig drainage ditches or other holes needed for irrigation repair
6. Clean cart paths with blowers and / or brooms
7. Fill divots in fairways and tees with sand and seed mix
8. Apply fertilizer and chemicals
9. Maintain grounds around the resort
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in other project work as necessary
2. Assist other departments when the need arises
