Platt Hill Nursery is a family-owned business with two locations in Bloomingdale and Carpentersville, IL. We have an opening for a full-time landscape manager/designer for our Bloomingdale location.

In this role you will develop relationships with our clients. A top-notch landscape manager/designer should be a keen problem solver, and possess remarkable communication skills. This candidate must have experience in leadership skills and have experience with labor budget reports. You will oversee the construction of outdoor spaces, hardscaping, softscape, monitoring and train staff, ensuring staff and observe safety guidelines and protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following.

Oversee the construction of outdoor spaces, hardscaping, softscape, monitoring and training staff, assessing progress and making recommendations and ensuring all crew members are compliant with health and safety regulations at all times. Instruct and oversee crew members to ensure the job is completed properly.

Responsible for viewing accuracy of time cards for payroll, setting schedules for your team, managing budget with labor hours.

Concept and design development, writing proposals, client communication during and after design process, create construction proposals based on job estimating systems, source materials to execute construction.

Job Skills and Requirements.

Knowledge of appropriate plant & hardscape material for our region, knowledge of natural stone and interlocking concrete pavers, knowledge of job estimating and proposal writing, cad experience, strong horticultural knowledge of trees, shrubs and perennials, excellent written and verbal communication skills, general knowledge of village codes and permitting processes and requirements.

The qualities that an ideal candidate will bring to this role: Ability to set and meet reasonable deadlines, function in a fast-paced environment with changing schedules, deadlines, and have outstanding organizational and record keeping skills. This ideal candidate will be positive with an energetic attitude and ability to work collaboratively within a team. The candidate will be able to creatively solve problems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,080.00 - $80,030.00 per year
