El Programa Hispano Católico (EPHC) is seeking a Full-Time Latinx Qualified Mental Health Practitioner! Funded through the Department of Justice, Crime Victims and Survivor Services Division, this bi-lingual (Spanish/English) Qualified Mental Health Practitioner (QMHP) position focuses on providing anti-oppressive strength based therapeutic services for Latinx survivors of domestic/sexual violence. The QMHP in this position will provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services using a trauma informed approach.

Qualifications:

  • Must be bilingual (Spanish/English) and bi-culturally competent.
  • Ability to communicate concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing in Spanish and English.
  • Master's degree in social/human services or mental health field or (QMHP).
  • Experience working with survivors of interpersonal violence and trauma recovery (2 years preferred).
  • Understand the effects of racism, discrimination, sexism, power, privilege and oppression on one's own life and career and those of the client.
  • Demonstrate strong clinical and crisis management skills as well as comprehension of various diagnoses including PTSD.
  • Commitment to EPHC mission to work in partnership with vulnerable populations to achieve lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.
  • Demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work well in team setting, as well as independently; be flexible and adapt well to different dynamics within a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have driver's license, access to vehicle and automobile insurance at levels required by agency (100/300/100).
  • Satisfactory results from criminal background check required.
  • Requires both in-persona and remote work.


Essential Duties:

  • Provide survivors of domestic and sexual violence direct therapeutic care including psychosocial assessment, development of treatment plans, individual therapy, and crisis intervention.
  • Maintain a caseload of between 15-20 survivors.
  • Maintain thorough clinical documentation using both electronic database and paper client files.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, VAWA, and El Programa Hispano Católico record compliance policies.
  • Work closely with Program Director to complete program evaluations and documentation needed to stay compliant with contractual agreements.
  • Attend bi-weekly and monthly program and agency meetings.
  • Adherence to El Programa Hispano Catolico policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by UNICA Director.

COMPENSATION: $52,000-$55,000/annually, DOE.
