Lead Custodian


Lead a crew of 10 or more members in the day-to-day cleaning and custodial care of two or more buildings per the direction of the Supervisor.

  • Inspects work areas daily and performs work duties as needed.

  • Perform some duties of the supervisor when he or she is not on campus and be a first responder to building emergencies. Move building to building to support the supervisor as the need arises and perform duties requested from the Custodial Manager and Director that may be in a building other than those under the supervisor’s oversite.

  • Fill in for other crew leaders in buildings that are under supervision of their direct Supervisor when they are absent.

  • Give feedback and participate in, with the supervisor; during the performance review period.

  • Uses proper and established methods and materials in cleaning and otherwise caring for building areas and provide training and mentoring per the direction of the Supervisor.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3 + years' Custodial related experience

  • 1 + years lead experience preferred

  • Proficient in the use and knowledge of floor cleaning equipment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to lead medium to large working crew;

  • Ability to see details at close range;

  • Ability to listen and understand spoken information and ideas;

  • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects;

  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs
