The Lead Design Manager (LDM) are Ease Learning’s project managers who have a strong background in learning design. This role is responsible for the overall project planning and execution of assigned projects. This includes, but not limited to, project planning, budget management, resource allocation, and implementation.,. The overall success of the project is the responsibility of the LDM.

Supervisory Responsibilities*
This position requires you to oversee, manage, and mentor internal team members assigned to projects. Performance issues within the team will escalate to the Director of Learning Design.

Duties/Responsibilities*
- Plan, direct and coordinate projects to ensure on-time completions within budget.
- Create long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
- Delegate tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them.
- Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project.
- Serve as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
- Assist Senior Management to determine scope and onboard new projects as well as new work for ongoing projects.
- Create and maintain project plans both internal and external using Ease Learning’s Systems. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Master plan and high level timeline
- Project tracking
- Status/tracking documents
- Key decisions / communication log
- Client agendas, notes, issues, and solutions
- 10K Setup and Maintenance
- Budgets and Resourcing
- Schedule and progress tracking
- Ensure assigned projects are properly resourced and provide a high level schedule to all team members. Monitor schedule and mitigate any issues or delays.
- Manage project scope both with the client and internal team.
- Communicate project scope and schedule to Ease Learning designers as well as the expectations and vision to the client.
- Monitor time sheets weekly and address any scope issues with Ease team members.
- Monitor schedules both internal and external and execute appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with LLD on any client scope issues and articulate solutions to clients.
- Make effective decisions ad communicate to all team members.
- Establish and lead client project status meetings.
- Communicate to clients during meetings in a non technical and clear manner. Have a clear agenda and goal. Respond to clients within 1 business day.
- Communicate project plans and schedule to clients.
- Establish and lead daily standups for internal team if needed.
- Manage project team and evaluate all project members.
- Assist with managing revenue and other financial goals for assigned projects.
- Assist with forecasting revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates for assigned projects and manage utilization.
- Analyze performance across a project and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide weekly summary reports of timelines, statuses, and budgets to Ease Management and client.
- Lead project post mortems and report as required.
- Manage contractors and contract scope on assigned projects if applicable (learning designers, SMEs, copy editors).
- Responsible for the client relationship and discussing new work as well as working with management on new SOWs.
- Act as a Lead Learning Designer when applicable.

Additional Duties*
The Lead Design Manager role requires strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to balance and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously in a constantly changing environment, and the ability to work virtually and independently.

Act in a professional manner in all communications.
- Post work hours (full-time) to Google calendar.
- During your posted work hours be available on Slack or other group chat systems (meetings should be listed in the calendar and set Slack to Do Not Disturb during those times).
- Have a set and quiet workspace available during work hours; minimize interruptions and noise level.
- Use Ease Learning’s project management system to record project status, monitor schedules, and track time daily.
- Manage assigned workload and adhere to all deadlines.
- Support professional development initiatives.
- Occassional travel may be required.

Education/Experience*
- Master’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or other applicable field and a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in Education or Instructional Design.
