Overall Description:
Responsible for driving the maintenance performance of manufacturing equipment. Provides Maintenance expertise to projects or operations, including maintenance, inspection & turnaround, proactively interacting with other disciplines, teams, and contractors to systematically resolve problems and applying sound engineering judgement focusing on risk management, operating efficiency, and equipment interruption elimination.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Develop a long-term vision and plan for manufacturing equipment reliability performance improvement
- Drive an integrated risk management approach for Safety, Quality and technical equipment reliability
- Develop standards (work processes, methodologies, technology solutions) across the equipment lifecycle
- Lead troubleshooting efforts on challenging equipment performance. Drive root cause elimination.
- Coordinate equipment performance activities across engineering, maintenance, and operations.
- Provide Maintenance Engineering support to effect process improvement, equipment reliability, cost reduction, SHE improvements and troubleshooting through the leading of improvement teams, impact events, and production/maintenance analysis.
- Responsible for assisting in diagnosing/troubleshooting, and general maintenance of mechanical and electrical production equipment.
- Train Maintenance team members in performing precision maintenance standards and execution of PM’s.
- Assist with the management of the Plant’s Mechanical Integrity Program. Provide effective contractor management to ensure cost efficiency and safety.
- Keep senior management informed on reliability performance by creating, maintaining, and presenting written reports on project and program status, tests, costs, issues, and performance against established targets on a regular basis.
- Participate in Engineering capital project teams.
- Acting as formal spokesperson during internal and external audits
- Assists in defining objectives to achieve targets on a team and/or individual level.
- Delivers local small projects or departmental programs successfully under supervision.
- Builds up knowledge and expertise in other technical and business disciplines.
- Applies collaborative leadership skills and/or leads small cross functional teams under supervision
Miscellaneous
- Provide back-up for other department personnel as required.
- Be a self-starter. Responsible for meeting Department goals, cost objectives, and work plans with little oversight.
- Participate in cross-functional teams as assigned to support continuous improvement or equipment installation / modification.
- Participates on investigative teams and site group initiatives (e.g. PHAs, PSSRs, etc.).
- Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
- Performs any other maintenance job as abilities are applicable and assigned.
- Delivers effective support in core area to multiple projects or programs
- Is available for other duties as required.
Experience Required:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years’ experience in an industrial Maintenance program.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and methods of repair.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Solid interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with SAP Maintenance module is a strong plus as is experience using Microsoft Office software and Outlook.
Physical requirements:
Ability to walk, sit and/or stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day. May be required to move throughout production areas on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and be exposed to outside temperatures/weather.
