Titans Summer Assistant Lead Instructor are the assistant supervisor at a designated school site during our summer program and will be in ratio. Assistant Leads are responsible for the overall supervision of a site and all students participating in the program. Must maintain contact with the Site Coordinator regarding all aspects of the program and must be committed to being a constant presence during all hours of operation. Assistant Leads must have high energy, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to maintain a fun and organized atmosphere.

Must be available to work five (5) days a week. Elementary: Monday through Friday 11:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. Middle School: Monday through Friday 12:00 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.

  • Please be aware that funding for this position is awarded through a Grant/Contract over a specified period. Employment for this position beyond current Grant/Contract funding is contingent upon continued funding.
Essential Duties

  • Must implement all Titans After School Program rules and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the Site Coordinator, Lead Coordinator, Program Director, and Program Coordinator as well as all other staff members.
  • Communicates regularly with the Site Coordinator regarding all aspects of the program.
  • Works with the Site Coordinator to prepare and implement program activities and a disciplinary plan.
  • Provide students with educational enrichment including positive youth development strategies, recreation, prevention activities, and the ability to teach youth positive life skills.
  • Ensures students receive constant supervision and provides a safe and supported environment at all times.
  • Create and implement an engaging educational curriculum monthly or as needed upon approval of direct supervisor.
  • Responsible for any Titans After School Program property such as curriculum and electronics that have been given to them or checked out for use.
  • Ensures the program materials and equipment are available and working.
  • Responsible to collect all attendance documents and any other documents needed at the end of programming daily.
  • Responsible to go over attendance sheets daily to ensure there are no missing signatures or other missing components.
  • Maintain updated student information on the attendance tracking system (City Span) on a weekly basis or as needed.
  • May need to stay past the scheduled time when students are picked up past normal check-out time.
  • Accurately track students’ progress using the programmatic protocol.
  • Responsible for having their own vehicle of transportation. This position will require the use of your vehicle from time to time to transport program equipment from sites or to report to other locations if needed.
  • Responsible to help guide other staff members to enhance their job performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must have reliable transportation and current California Driver’s License with valid registration and insurance.

EDUCATION:
  • Must pass the District Exam or have 48 college units completed.
  • Must have at least a 2.5 GPA, if enrolled in college as an undergrad.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
May have short or prolonged periods sitting in front of a computer. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, talking, hearing, pulling, bending, may carry 10 - 20 pounds of objects/material, not exposed to extreme noise level, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, taste or smell.
