Responsibilities include:
- Developing assessment approaches and methodologies for Life Science programs Leading audit teams domestically and overseas
- Writing evidence-based findings reports and presenting results to Stakeholders
- Developing analysis frameworks for performance measurement
- Executing audits and assessments to a variety of international standards including ISO 17025:2017, ISO 35001, and ISO 15189.
- Providing analysis and recommendations for safety, security, and quality improvements
- Developing audit and assessment plans
- Performing environmental scans for a variety of research topics in the life science domain area
- Preparing technical presentations, reports, whitepapers, tutorials, and other materials as necessary to communicate the progress and findings of projects to colleagues and government sponsors
- Independently authoring detailed, accurate, and accessible documentation (including scientific papers) describing findings and results
- Presenting scientific findings and project results to the internal team and external partners
Required Qualifications:
- Candidate must have a background in the life sciences with a Masters degree in one of these areas: Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology, Epidemiology, Biodefense, or a related field.
- 5+ years experience in academia, industry, or government
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance
- A track record of developing and executing audits and evaluations
- Demonstrated ability to lead independent assessments
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Experience as an independent evaluator/assessor, including design of assessment approaches and methods and elucidating evaluation criteria where there isn’t a standard available.
- Experience as an auditor/lead technical assessor for some or all of the following standards: ISO 17025:2017, ISO 15189, ISO 9001, and ISO 35001.
- Experience auditing life science laboratories such as public health labs, clinical diagnostic labs, veterinary labs, analytical chemistry labs, and biodefense labs.
Experience with the following:
- performing independent assessments
- documenting findings based on objective evidence
- interacting with auditees
- leading audit teams
- generating audit reports
- Experience implementing process improvements to remediate issues
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety/Industrial Hygiene
- Knowledge of Biological Safety principles and practices
- Knowledge of Biological Security principles and practices
- Experience with Quality Assurance/Quality Control in the laboratory setting
- Candidate must be able to travel up to 25%.

- Experience with international programs
