The Lead Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering excellent patient care first and foremost, coordinating and ensuring a safe and compliant working environment, ensuring accurate and complete patient charting, conducting pre- and post-operative visits, and fostering a spirit of teamwork.

Key Responsibilities can be categorized in three main area:
General:
- Applies knowledge of policies and procedures related to OSHA standards including, but not limited to: infection control, risk management, hazardous communications and environmental safety. Applies knowledge of standard precautions, hand hygiene, transmission-based precautions and personal protective equipment
- Acts with integrity to maintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance always while maintaining PHI Disclosure records.
- Enforces policy adherence consistent with AAAHC guidelines to maintain superb Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI).
- Oversees Quality Improvement measures according to QI policy.
- Planning, designing, measuring, assessing, improving new or revised processes of patient care and service.
- Facilitating a positive patient outcome, while maintaining a safe environment for personnel, patients and visitors.
- Participates on the QA/QI peer review panel in circumstances where there is an occurrence. Matters include: Quality, Risk, Rules, Regulations and Utilization.
Medication Administration:
- Ensure that pre-operative prophylactic antibiotic is administered.
- Ensure that all drugs off and on the sterile fields are labeled.
- Remain conscientious of Lidocaine amounts administered to patient and chart accordingly (physician will verify the amounts charted are correct).
- Administer medications per physician’s order.
Post-Procedure Responsibilities:
- Assist, if needed with application of proper post-procedure dressings and garments to patients with
- patient comfort in mind.
- Provide excellent nursing care to patient and attain strict criteria for discharge.
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, and physician's instructions to patients and caregiver(s).
- Discharge patients to caregiver(s).
This role works through the full patient experience; pre-procedure, intra-procedure, medication administration and post-procedure.
Education:
- D.N. or B.S.N. from accredited College of Nursing
- Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN exam in state of desired practice.
Experience:
- 2-3 years or more as an RN
- 2 or more years of leadership experience
- Experience in a cosmetic surgery center is a plus
Key Skills/Qualifications:
- Must be familiar with MS Office, including Excel
- Demonstrates strong decision making capabilities
- Ability to write reports and correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients, caregivers, physicians and staff
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to recognize and elevate care to physician
- Ability to assess medical clearance issues, medication history and review, and wound assessment
Physical Demands:
Use of the telephone, computer and other related instruments or devices while communicating with patients, caregivers, physicians and staff
- Vision and hearing acuity
- Standing and walking for periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
