Overview:
The LEAP Program Coordinator facilitates and provides oversite of daily operations of the LEAP Program, a reentry employment initiative within the Northampton County Jail. The LEAP Program Coordinator facilitates and provides oversite of daily operations of the LEAP Program, a reentry employment initiative within the Northampton County Jail. The program provides transitioning offenders from the Northampton County Jail critical job readiness and employability skills needed to obtain and retain employment post-release.
Essential Functions
- Facilitate successful LEAP operations through planning, development and coordination of services by program team and partners, participants and the community
- Ensure the implementation of an Individual Employment Plan (IEP) for all participants; assist with case management and monitor participant progress toward employment and training goals
- Support seamless transitions for LEAP Program participants from the LEAP program to PA CareerLink® Lehigh Valley career services to help participants get jobs and reduce recidivism rates
- Partner with the Business Services Team and WBLV Business Relations Director to advance employment and training opportunities for returning citizens within the local business community
- Work with the court system, probation, and parole to promote the program and coordinate reentry services
- Develop and submit accurate program reporting to the Deputy Director as scheduled and quarterly and year-to-date activity of performance outcomes
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in criminal justice, business, workforce, education or a related field
- Proven experience in a leadership role and/or project management in a reentry or social services capacity with demonstrated success in meeting goals
- Excellent follow-through when corresponding with partners, staff and customers
- Successful candidate will be required to obtain all necessary security clearances
- A valid driver's license is required
