Description:

The Learning and Development Manager oversees all learning and employee development initiatives at the Bank. The Learning and Development Manager plans, designs, develops, implements, evaluates, facilitates, and administers learning and development programs for Bank employees, consistent with strategic and operational goals and objectives. Acts as a liaison and advisor to Bank leadership and facilitates the Bank’s learning related initiatives across the organization.

Reporting to the SVP of Human Resources, the Learning and Development Manager performs a wide variety of duties related to the design, development, facilitation, coordination and evaluation of learning programs and other employee development initiatives.

  • Creates a Centreville Bank Learning and Development function and maintains infrastructure for future internal and external learning initiatives.
  • Design, develop and implement internal learning programs, including, but not limited to, programs related to management development, interpersonal skills, customer relations, operational effectiveness, product awareness and skill development.
  • Identify organizational and individual learning and development needs and opportunities via periodic needs assessments and other appropriate mechanisms.
  • Propose learning and development programs to address strategic and operational goals and objectives.
  • Manages formal career path programs. Contribute to career development, replacement and succession planning programs.
  • Manage job shadow program to ensure interdepartmental collaboration and understanding of work.
  • Manages Centreville Bank Mentor program, partnering employees with mentors to assist in their ongoing development.
  • Develop and maintain orientation and onboarding programs for all new employees.
  • Develop and/or obtain relevant learning supplies and materials.
  • Consult with and advise management regarding job specific skill training (such as sales training) and compliance related training.
  • Review, monitor and assess all employee participation in external learning initiatives, including seminars, workshops, webinars, on-line platforms, conferences, etc.
  • Develop and maintain annual internal training calendar.
  • Partner with AVP of Communication and Engagement to to ensure Bank employees are made aware of learning and development opportunities.
  • Administrator for the Learning Management System to ensure accurate records.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to understand and respond to learning and employee development needs.
  • Facilitates internal courses as well as New Hire Orientation.
  • Identify internal and external subject matter experts and other related resources to assist in the development and delivery of learning programs, coaching engagements and other employee development initiatives.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a process to evaluate learning initiatives and revise programs as needed.
  • Identify and incorporate best practices into learning and development programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with educational institutions to enhance internship opportunities.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field
  • Banking or financial services experience
  • 7+ years in similar role
  • Experience using a Learning Management System
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, implement and evaluate learning programs
  • Strong project management skills
  • Effective consultative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence business and functional partners
  • Thorough knowledge of human resource management disciplines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of federal and state legislation relevant to learning and employee development initiatives
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels throughout the organization
  • Thorough knowledge of motivational theories, adult learning principles and other applicable styles of learning
  • Ability to travel regularly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in HR or related field
  • Instructional Design Certification
  • Training Certification
