The Education Department at Saint Xavier University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, 9-month faculty position as an Assistant Professorial Lecturer. The selected candidate with expertise in Early Childhood Education will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Education Department’s teacher preparation programs. Experience in ESL/Bilingual Education and Special Education is preferred. The candidate will also engage in student advising and support with department and university service.

• Undergraduate and Graduate instruction – four courses (12 credits) per semester, may be in-person or online
• Academic advising – formal academic advising and mentoring of Education students
• Oversight of relevant ECE grants
• Assistance with State and accreditation activities within the Department as related to Early Childhood Education
• Department collaboration with Director, Faculty, and Staff
• Participation in student recruitment efforts
• Department and university service
• Engagement with other faculty tasks associated with the Department or University

• Earned doctorate in the field of education – Learning Sciences, Curriculum and Instruction, Instructional Design, or related
• Experience focused on Early Childhood Education, licensure preferred
• Teaching experience at the K-12 and collegiate level required
• Knowledge of current policies and practices associated in Early Childhood Education
• Knowledge of assessment practices in Education Departments
• Cultural competencies to include teaching, service, and research in diverse learning communities
• Permission to work in the United States
